About Me!

Welcome to my personal website! I'm Maya and I will be beginning my PhD in Computer Science in the Center for Information Technology Policy (CITP) at Princeton this fall with Professors Alexandra Korolova and Jonathan Mayer!

I’m interested in how algorithmic decision-making systems can be made more fair, accountable, and trustworthy, especially by connecting technical methods with real-world social and policy constraints.

About Me

I recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania as part of the first class of graduates in the Artificial Intelligence major (you can read the article about that here!) During my undergrad I worked on a variety of research projects in ML, game theory, and social choice with Aaron Roth, Bailey Flanigan and Surbhi Goel.

Personal

My main extra-academia interests are in the performing arts! UPenn's 34th magazine wrote a lovely article about my experience being defined by such distinct passions. I am also an intermittent beginner guitar player, and a frequent (and passionate) singer of musical theater soundtracks in my car.
